Is rightleaning none other than Christopher Phillips? Phillips is the compiler of the excellent Birmingham Votes 1911-2000Published in 2000 by LGC Communications under the 'Twentieth Century Local Election Results' series 270pp See also: County Borough Elections in England and Wales, 1919-1938: A Comparative Analysis. Volume 1: Barnsley - Bournemouth.Sam Davies and Bob Morley Ashgate, 1999. Birmingham is chapter 5 (pages 217-334), but no by-elections are recorded, nor the result if the poll was postponed.

Polling took place between 9am and 4pm, when the boxes were conveyed to the Town Hall and the contents examined by the returning office, W Scholefield Esq.
