With thanks to David J. Glanfield for this extremely useful resource. Saturday polling dates for Yorkshire UDCs 1894-1972When searching for election results, it is probably best to search a week either side of this date for the whole of England and Wales, as UDC polls were completed within a week. Nominations were made 14-16 days before polling, and they could be withdrawn after a few days.

Thanks for this David J. Glanfield. I'd been thinking about expanding this thread for a while. Here are some dates for elections held in London between 1870 and 2012. If anyone has any more information on election dates please do share them; it's essential for researching.

This is very useful! Trying to find high-quality information about election dates and how each type of council operated election-wise was one of the biggest challenges when I started out - and I'm still not 100% sure about parish councils...

Some revised areas polled on 26 March as opposed to 2 April. I note that Kirkburton UDC polled on Monday 28th March. I'll make a note here if there were any others.
